What the schemes do
The Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme (SEIS) and Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) give individual investors generous Income Tax relief (and other reliefs) for backing qualifying early-stage companies — making your round more attractive to investors.
Advance assurance
Before raising, many companies apply to HMRC for advance assurance — an indication that a proposed share issue is likely to qualify. Investors often expect to see this before committing.
Getting the process right
Both schemes have detailed conditions on the company, the shares and the use of funds, and reliefs can be lost if the rules aren’t followed. We manage the applications, compliance statements and investor certificates so the process is clean.
